The Volen Center has proudly served the elder population of Palm Beach County since its founding in 1968.  Seniors of all ages, races, religions, and socioeconomic status enjoy the benefits of the Center and its services every day.

The Center offers a myriad of programs designed to bring health, fun, laughter and companionship into the lives of our senior citizens – all based on a preventative concept designed to nurture the mind, body and the spirit and foster continued good health.

Alzheimer's Week Ends with Candlelight Observance

At 7:00 pm on Friday, November 19, the Center’s 2010 Alzheimer’s Week observance ended with a Candle Lighting Ceremony, a moving tribute to families experiencing the burden of Alzheimer’s disease. Attended by almost 200 people, the ceremony featured an elegant buffet, a performance by Southern Dance Theater previewing the 2011 Love Affair event (to be held in February), and presentations by family caregivers and others.
The Ceremony was the final event of the week, which featured presentations on the many forms of dementia, wandering, and genetic patterns by presenters including Dr. Alicia Facca and representatives of the University of Miami and caregiving by David Levy. Hundreds attended the week’s events.

Center Receives State-Wide Recognition

The Volen Center has recently been recognized by two Aging Network leadership organizations for its high quality
of service and leadership in the aging field.
The Center was named “Provider of the Year” at the May 25, 2010, annual meeting of the Area Agency on Aging
Palm Beach/Treasure Coast. Presented by Jaime Estremera-Fitzgerald, AAA CEO, and Dr. Alan Sadowsky, Chair, AAA Board of Directors, the award recognizes the organization that has demonstrated exemplary leadership and innovation for the betterment of seniors in support of independent living ...
